Common
questions.
Everything we get asked most often. Can't find what you're looking for? Send us a note via the contact form and we'll answer within a day.
What ages do you work with?
Players age 5 through high school. Either coach can work with any age — Coach Dylan leans toward fundamentals and defensive foundations, Coach Andy toward mechanics and high-school prep. If you have a preference, just say so when you book.
Is my kid ready for private training?
If they're old enough to swing a bat and want to swing a bat, they're ready. The first session is free, recorded, and walked through after, so there's no risk in finding out. We've worked with first-time 5-year-olds and HS varsity starters in the same week.
Is the first session really free?
Yes. Every new player gets a free 30-minute session, recorded, with a coach analysis sent home within 48 hours. One per player, ever. No card on file, no commitment.
What should we bring to the first session?
A glove, water, and a bat if you have one. We've got tees, balls, and recording gear. If your kid doesn't have a bat yet, we have a few sizes you can try.
What does my kid wear?
Athletic clothes they can swing in. Sneakers or cleats both work — the garage is on a turf-style surface so cleats are fine but optional. No metal spikes.
What happens during a session?
30 minutes of 1-on-1 work — typically tee work, soft toss, live swings, defensive reps, or specific drills based on what your kid needs. Every rep is filmed from a tripod in the garage. Your coach reviews the footage after the session and sends it home with notes and a practice plan within 48 hours.
Do you film every session?
Yes. Every session. The footage goes home with you, tagged with the good reps, the reps to fix, and short coaching notes. It's how parents know what we worked on, and how kids see their swing the way we see it.
What's in the practice plan?
Two or three specific drills picked for your kid, with rep targets, coaching cues, and short demo clips so you can run them at home. New plan after every session. The drills change as your kid progresses.
Can I (the parent) watch?
Always. There's space for parents to sit and watch. Some kids work better with you watching, some work better without. After a session or two you'll know which type your kid is.
Will my kid always have the same coach?
Generally yes — we keep your kid with the coach they click with. Either coach can work with any age, so if you have a preference between Dylan and Andy, just say so when you book.
How much does it cost?
After the free first session, sessions are $45 for 30 minutes or $85 for 60 minutes. The first ten paid clients lock in $35 per 30 minutes for six months (the Founding 10). Or join the Club Membership at $199/month for three 60-minute sessions plus film and a custom practice plan after each one.
What's the Founding 10?
Our launch offer for the first ten paid families. $35 per 30-minute session, locked for six months from your first paid session, plus a permanent spot on the Founders' Wall. Once ten spots fill — or 30 days after season end, whichever comes first — the offer closes.
What's included in the Club Membership?
Three 60-minute private sessions a month, every session filmed and analyzed, a personalized home practice plan after each one, drill library access, async video review between sessions, monthly progress report, and priority booking. $199/month.
Is there a discount for booking multiple sessions?
Yes — a 4-pack of sessions is 10% off. Applies to any standard 30- or 60-minute tier. Members get priority booking instead of a discount, since the monthly rate already runs about 42% below the local market for equivalent volume.
How do refunds work?
Cancel any session up to 24 hours before, no charge. Inside 24 hours we'll do our best to reschedule. If we cancel (weather, illness), we reschedule at no cost or refund. Memberships are cancelable any time. See the full Terms.
Where is the garage?
18404 138th St E, Bonney Lake, WA 98391 — up on the Tehaleh plateau. You'll get the exact directions in your confirmation email after booking your first session.
When are sessions?
Evenings (typically 4:30 to 8:30pm) and weekend mornings. Both coaches work full-time elsewhere, so we book around the schedules that actually fit working families.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes. A standard parent waiver + media release goes out by email after your first booking, as a fillable PDF. Sign it and reply back before your visit. We can't run a session without a waiver on file.
What's the media release for?
Permission to record the session on our own equipment so we can review it with you. By default we don't post player video publicly. The release lets you opt in or stay private. Recordings always go home with you.
What if it's raining?
The garage is enclosed and weatherproof. We train year-round, indoor on real turf. No rainouts.
Does my kid need their own bat?
Eventually yes, but not for the first session. We have a few sizes for the first visit. For longer-term, we wrote a guide on how to pick the right bat — it covers length, weight, USA vs. USSSA, and what to skip.
What kind of glove should we get?
Age 5–8: a 9.5" to 10.5" leather glove broken in by you, not the kid. Age 9–11: 11" to 11.5". Older: position-specific. Avoid the cheap synthetic ones — they don't form to the hand and kids never trust them.
Do you sell equipment?
No. We're a training facility, not a pro shop. We'll tell you exactly what to buy and where to buy it (no affiliate links), but you handle the purchase.
Try a session. It's free, and it answers most questions.
The fastest way to know if this is right for your kid is 30 minutes in the garage. Recorded, walked through after, plan home in 48 hours. No commitment.
